  Since our firm was founded, GeoDatum, Inc. has strived to be a leader in surveying innovation and outstanding service in the Pacific Northwest. We have a staff comprised of individuals who have continuously displayed leadership within the industry on a national level. Although we have grown and continue to grow since our founding, we remain true to our ideals and high levels of service that have been the cornerstone of our firm.

 Structural engineering at GeoDatum is grounded in a dedication to new methods and materials in combination with state of the art analysis tools. With the use of high end software we can minimize the use of overconservative assumptions that lead to greater costs for the owner. Whether it is finite element analysis of post-tensioned slabs or the use of dynamic excavation shoring modeling software, the use of the right software provides a more concise and predictable model of a structures behavior and leads to more efficient design.
But software is not the entire story. Experience and a design grounded in practicality and ease of construction can make all the difference. We have experience in the design of post tensioned slabs for parking garages, podium slabs and slabs on grade. We have completed mid-rise structures using wood, steel and concrete. We have designed shoring cuts and retaining walls over 30 feet high. We have also designed many single family residences, townhomes and waterfront structures.
 Civil engineering is about the application of knowledge to a project in such a way as to minimize difficulty and cost in construction, maximize the projects value and to address problems at all phases of a project with a keen eye for cost and expediency.
While any firm including GeoDatum can point to a list of many outstanding projects, it is not that list that will ensure a project is succesful and meets the clients needs. The people that will work on your project, the environment in which they work and the relationship you have with them will determine the success of your project. GeoDatum does not fill positions based on project experience alone. We seek out and hire individuals that have a broad range of experience, excellent communication skills and a history of clients that have had positive experiences working with them. Regardless of end use, any property development project requires dedication and expertise in the navigation of land use planning and entitlement processes. From zoning to permitting, we find that clients appreciate the support GeoDatum offers as a project moves from concept to completion. In some cases, we assist with the acquisition of the property, but just as often, we’re called upon to lend our more than 30 years of work in the area to get a project through the processes in a timely manner.
