Boundary surveying is the art and science of establishing or reestablishing corners, lines, boundaries, and monuments of real property, based upon recorded documents, historical evidence, and present standards of practice.

If you need to know the limits of your property, then you need a boundary survey. When you get a boundary survey your property corners will be found or set. Optionally, you may wish to have line stakes put in along your boundaries or easements and othe legal features located. You may also need a topographic survey if you would like features such as the house or driveway located.
